- Expression of Interest are invited for Assessment of Standard Protocols and Methods for Feed Quality Assurance. Publication Date: 2/12/2024 12:00 AM EST EOI Deadline: 2/26/2024 11:59 PM EST Description: The overall objective of this consultancy is to test standard protocols, methods, and tools for feed quality assurance in Uganda to maintain a healthy, productive and resilient aquaculture feed industry for increased and sustainable aquaculture production. The study will identify and test protocols, methods, and tools for assessing animal feed such as physical inspection, Mobile Near Infrared Spectroscopy digital tools like NutriOpt On-Site Adviser and TANGO FT-NIR Spectrometer among others and compare them with standard laboratory test. The results from this study will inform the investments in fisheries sector under the UCSATP. The work will be undertaken across Uganda and the contract activities will include: 1. To undertake a review of the existing standard protocols methods, and tools for assuring the quality fish feed, identify gaps and aspects that need strengthening. 2. To test and adapt standard protocols, methods, and tools for assessing the quality fish feed. In the process the study will also be able to provide or assess the quality of fish feed in Uganda. 3. To disseminate the results so that government of Uganda, the private sector, and farmers can use these tools in regulating, producing, and optimizing fish nutrition.
