MICRO AND SMALL MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (MSME) BUSINESS LINKAGES ON EAST AFRICAN CRUDE OIL PIPELINE (UGANDA AND TANZANIA) PROJECT Grant No: 5700155003451-Project No: P-Z1-HZO-037 Request for Expression Interest (Consulting Services-Firm Selection) Assignment Title: Business Development Training REF: OO-OO-OO-OOO-001 The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) has received financing from Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) through the African Development Bank toward the cost of the “Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) Business Linkages on East African Crude Oil Pipeline (Uganda And Tanzania) Project” and intends to apply part of the agreed amount of the grant to payments under the contract for “Business Development Training”. The overall objective of the project to help develop capacity of local Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) along the 1,445km East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) in Uganda and Tanzania. The purpose of the assignment is to design and implement a Business Development Training program, that will help build capacity of at least 200 SMEs to enable them meet large company supplier criteria, commercial bank lending requirements and have potential to access new markets in Uganda and elsewhere. The Consultant is expected to identify targeted Micro and Small/Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and conduct needs assessments, facilitate trainings in relevant topics to enhance creation of platforms for networking and market linkages between MSME-s with national, regional and international businesses and organizations. The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) now invites eligible consultants, private sector firms, incubators and similar entities) to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating practical experience in similar assignments by providing a summary of similar assignments undertaken in the past in the project country or in other similar countries and business environment. The consultant should also demonstrate possession of appropriate skilled personnel with relevant qualifications to perform the assignment. supported with relevant documentation.
