- Climate change in Uganda is predicted to cause temperature rise and to make rainfall seasonality more erratic, including changes in onset, duration and intensity punctuated with intra-seasonal dry spells, which are expected to further increase climate vulnerabilities and risks. To respond to those risks, the Government of Uganda listed adaptation as priority in their climate change strategy. Furthermore, Uganda intends to elaborate its adaptation component by improving data and related information on impacts risk and vulnerability and also develop indicators for measuring resilience. This is envisaged to foster deeper understanding of climate change impacts and assessing vulnerabilities necessary for effectively preparation for future climate risks. Under this background, This Uganda climate vulnerabilities assessment project is being implemented by UNEP CCC together with the Ministry ofWater and Environment/Climate Change Department. The objective of the project is to assist Government of Uganda to enhance the capacity to manage, monitor and report on national climate adaptation efforts through developing a vulnerability assessment tool. The project needs support from the groundin involving the national stakeholders in developing such a tool.
