  • Tenders are invited for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (Gesi) Technical Assistance Consultancy Scope of Work: • Provide technical inputs related to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) for education projects in Nigeria, Rwanda, Djibouti, Ghana, Senegal, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morocco, El Salvador and/or other projects within the GE PLSA on an as-needed basis. • Review existing FHI 360 GESI Analysis tools and customizing them for specific application to the global education context. • Perform or support GESI analyses designed to explore the patterns and dynamics related to gender, ethnicity, religion, disability status, social economic status and other dimensions of diversity and their respective impact on equitable access to high quality education, from Early Childhood Education to Higher Education o Perform desk research to review relevant laws, policies, regulations, and institutional practices. o Conduct focus group and key informant interviews to examine power relationships, understand and analyze social norms and attitudes, impact of gender-based violence (GBV), and map stakeholders- experience related to educational access and opportunity. o Author or contribute to reports detailing findings of GESI analyses. • Leverage the results of GESI analyses to inform and guide project design and implementation to mitigate and remove barriers and strengthen opportunities for inclusion and meaningful participation in the education system, from Early Childhood Education to Higher Education. • Contribute to the development of project-level strategies or action plans to help guide transformative response to GESI issues throughout the project cycle. • Working with select field staff, develop a culturally sensitive general training for education stakeholders (including FHI 360 field staff) on how to produce GESI-responsive approaches to project management, education interventions, including curricular materials, pedagogical practices, community development (i.e., that conform to USAID guidelines on GESI). As necessary, provide GESI audits of curricular materials, identifying and suggesting removal of content that reinforces outdated social norms and biases. • Leveraging existing materials used to develop and deliver teacher professional development modules for Gender-sensitive pedagogy to create a comprehensive training package. Professional development modules may include in-service or pre-service and may be designed for face-to-face training or eLearning. • Support capacity building of in-country and HQ-based FHI 360 staff, as well as that of incountry partners and stakeholders (i.e., ministry staff and the staff of local partners). • Collaborate with, train, and/or manage staff for field work (gender responsive approaches to activity design and measurement, data collection, etc.) participatory workshops. • Support for designing materials for workshop presentations, including PowerPoint slides and workshop activities. • Support for developing toolkits and guidelines to support GESI-sensitive project implementation, including the development of core training and tools that address school safety and school-related gender-based violence. • Collaborate with project-based and HQ-based research and evaluation staff to develop research questions, indicators, and procedures for documenting success in the implementation of GESI-sensitive programming. • Support for business development opportunities, including desk research, participation in technical design sessions, preparation for technical reviews, and technical writing Timetable and Address for Submission: Proposals are due no later than 5:00 PM EDT on Friday, April 22, 2022.
