• Expression of Interest are invited for Project Management Consultancy Services to Support Uganda Railways Corporation during the Implementation of the Eac Railway Rehabilitation Support Project (Refurbishment of the Kampala - Malaba Meter Gauge Railway Line) Hiring a Firm to Provide Project Management Consultancy Services. the Project Will Be Implemented by The Uganda Railways Corporation (URC). The Services to Be Provided by The Project Management Consultant, Shall Among Others, Include the Following: - Assist in the Preparation of Procurement Plans, Bidding Documents, Technical Specifications, and Bid Evaluations in Line with African Development Bank Procurement Framework, Rules and Procedures; - Review Contractor-S Designs, Work Programs and Method Statements and Ensure Conformance with Project Requirements, Gender Action Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Environmental Mitigations Plans, Sufficiency of Personnel and Equipment Resources and Other Facilities, Adequacy of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Procedures; - Establish a Project Management and Control System to Plan and Monitor the Physical and Financial Progress of The Project and Prepare All Reports as the Project Demands - Ensuring that All Necessary Insurance Bonds or Guarantees to be Provided by Consultants and Contractors are in Place and Remain up to Date as Required by the Contract; - Ensure the Maintenance of a Contract Document Control System and Project Archive Related to the Project, Including but not Limited to Correspondences, Reports, Technical Specifications, Bid and Contract Documents etc; - Assist in Quality Assurance and Control of the Works, Supplies and Services and Ensure that All Activities, Actions And Processes are Carried out According to Best Practice for the Execution of Railway Works, Supply of Rolling Stock and Workshop Equipment and Machinery, etc - Supervising Implementation of the Environmental and Social Management Plan, and Supervise Gender-Based Activities under the Project; - Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Project Progress Reports; - Issuing of Instructions Where Necessary; - Reviewing the Progress of the Works and Preparing Monthly and Quarterly Progress Reports; - Determination of Considering Claims; - Supervising Occupational Safety and Health at Work Sites; - Measurement of Completed Works; - Verification and Certification of Payments to the Contractor. - Monitoring, Commissioning and Inspections; - Certifying Practical Completion; - Bringing Defects to The Attention of The Contractor; - Issuing the Certificate of Making Good Defects, - Agreeing the Final Account; and - Arranging Handover Etc.
