- Request for proposals are invited for SMC Proposal Writer. Issued on: 3/15/22 Proposal Deadline: 4/15/22 FHI 360 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways in the United States and throughout the world. The Social Marketing and Communication (SMC) department within FHI 360-s U.S. Programs is a national leader in applying a science-based approach to social marketing and communication to address public health and other challenges in the U.S. SMC currently implements a diverse portfolio of social marketing, public relations, communication, and training and technical assistance projects in the U.S. that are funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, private associations, and foundations. In the past decade, our team has worked on issues such as diabetes, emergency and pandemic preparedness, obesity prevention, sexual health, HIV/AIDS, cancer, asthma, immunizations, violence prevention, access to health care, and tobacco control and cessation. Samples of our work can be viewed at the SMC gallery. III. SCOPE OF WORK AND DELIVERABLES The consultant writer will work in collaboration with BDD, BUs, proposal teams, particularly design leads and technical specialists, to develop responsive, competitive bids. Specifically, the consultant will (1) review RFPs to understand the technical requirements, (2) work with FHI 360 to develop the technical solution by participating in design sessions, (3) draft proposal sections drawing on multiple sources that may include desk/Internet research, interviews with FHI 360 staff and external subject-matter experts, and past proposal content, (4) incorporate feedback from proposal reviews, and (5) produce a final, polished proposal. The consultant may also create proposal outlines; attend kickoff meetings, design sessions and technical review meetings; revise content based on feedback from proposal reviewers; and incorporate copy from technical contributors. They may develop a single voice for narrative; deliver first, second, and final drafts for review per proposal calendar milestones. The work will require approximately 40-80 hours per month and will take place from MaySeptember 2022.
