- Expression of Interest are invited for Warehousing, Customs Clearing and Forwarding Services. The United Nations Children-s Fund Uganda office, hereinafter referred to as UNICEF, is a specialized agency of the United Nations with a mandate to advocate for the protection of children-s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. UNICEF works with governments, civil society organizations and other partners worldwide to advance children-s rights and is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. In effort to fulfill its mandate, UNICEF Uganda supports the Government of Uganda to procure supplies locally and internationally. Imported supplies need to go through necessary customs and handling procedures as required by the laws of country and subsequently stored/warehoused before being utilized in the programmes UNICEF supports. Through this Request for Expression of interest, UNICEF is seeking qualified companies that can provide: 1. Customs clearing and forwarding services 2. Warehousing services. The minimum requirements for companies to submit their Expression of Interest are: • Must be in located (central office) Kampala or Entebbe • Must have valid licenses/permits as per the laws of the country of Uganda • Proven experience in the above services with at least a minimum of 5 years • Verifiable references from current clients to whom the company has provided similar services • Should have adequate staffing structure and an established office premises in Uganda • Must have some form of Quality Management System in place (e.g. certification against the relevant international standard and/or documented QMS) • In the case of warehousing services, must have a minimum of 2,000m2 floor space, easy access by road and available to provide the services on a 24/7 basis. Availability of bonded warehousing should also be indicated. Must also have adequate security systems in place and necessary power supply arrangements including back up.
